Those of us on a keto / low carb diet surely count pizza as one of the foods they miss.

A couple of weeks ago, we posted a story on Instagram asking our followers what else they would like to see on Lin Switzerland. One of the suggestions was a pizza base and I thought that was a fantastic idea.

Pizza is pretty universal and who does not enjoy an indulgent pizza once in a while. Those of us on a keto / low carb diet surely count pizza as one of the foods they miss. What about those who are gluten intolerant? What are the pizza options available to all of us with special food requirements?

I went about testing over 12 different keto pizza base recipes. I had in my mind what I wanted but none of the recipes gave me exactly what I wanted so of course, I had to create and modify till I was satisfied.

Most recipes out there depended on the fathead dough principal and that was what I really wanted to avoid. I remember enjoying a fathead pizza base once or twice and after that, I had enough. I had indigestion and it did nothing good for my weight as there was simply too much dairy. It was also not practical to add more cheese on a cheese based dough. Sometimes too much of a good thing is well, simply too much.

The final result is a keto pizza base that is light and fluffy on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. It can be used as a pizza base, as well as a flatbread for other meal ideas. All you have to do is pop it in the oven at 180 degrees celsius for about 10 to 12 minutes.

They are packed in 2s and vacuumed sealed for freshness and can be frozen unopened for up to a month. After opening, consume within 3 days.

Here is a short video showing how the pizza base is to be used, together with a simple idea for making a cheese and herb pizza. I hope you feel inspired and get creative to make your very own pizza creation.
