NEW INGREDIENT - RESISTANT TAPIOCA STARCH

Our latest range of products such as the Keto Vegan White Loaf, Keto Butterzopf and Keto Sponge Cake Base contain a new ingredient - resistant tapioca starch.

WHAT IS RESISTANT TAPIOCA STARCH

The resistant starch is a type of starch consisting of long chains of glucose. It can be found in various foods such as grains, potatoes, fruits and vegetables. However, unlike most starchy foods which are broken down in our small intestines to sugars and quickly absorbed into our blood, resistant starches resist digestion and pass through our intestines to reach our colon undigested where they behave in a similar way to soluble fibre.

BENEFITS OF RESISTANT TAPIOCA STARCH

(Extract from source: Healthline)

Source of Butyrate:

The resistant starch ends up in your large intestine. Bacteria digest it and turn it into short-chain fatty acids, the most important being butyrate. Butyrate is the preferred fuel of the cells that line your colon.

Improve Insulin Sensitivity:

Studies have shown that it improves the responsiveness of your body’s cells to insulin.

Resistant starch is also very effective at lowering blood sugar levels after meals.

May Aid Weight Loss:

By increasing satiety (the feeling of fullness).
