STAYING ON KETO OVER CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR

The Christmas and New Year festivities are a wonderful time. Finally, it’s time to sit back, relax and spend some quality time with family and friends. It is also a season of feasting and indulgence with all the social engagements that one may be involved in. Many people ‘fall of the wagon’ of the Keto way of eating (WOE) during this period because of social pressures, temptations and the lack of Keto choices.
Here are some ideas how you can enjoy the season and still stay on your Keto WOE.
1. Bring your own food.
This is definitely possible if you are dining at your family or friend's place. You can bring your own Keto breads, pastas, sauces and desserts and pretty much enjoy the food as much as everyone else.
2. Offer to make the food.
Besides bringing your own Keto food, why not offer to make some of the food so that its Keto friendly for you and delicious for the rest. There are plenty of Keto friendly dishes out there that you can prepare that will be equally delicious and enjoyable for everyone.
3. Check the menu first.
If you are dining at a restaurant, it will be a good idea to check the menu before going. That way you can plan what to eat in advance and be totally prepared for it. If the place has no Keto friendly food and the social situation obliges you to be there, you can eat something prior so you will not find yourself hungry and compromised.
Having the support of family and friends is very important to your success in the Keto WOE. Be sure to let your closest and dearest know what you are doing and gain their support.
Finally, if you do fall off the wagon this season, do not be discouraged. Make sure you get back on it in the new year.
Have a wonderful time. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
